Nature of Business: Comprehensive, fee-based financial planning.I became an entrepreneur because I felt that I would have a greater impact on my community doing things my way. Financial literacy has always been a huge problem in the community; however, most financial planning companies either focus solely on high net-worth individuals. If they didn’t focus solely on high net-worth individuals, they sold products to generate revenue and displayed no regard for the individual goals, needs, and wants of the client. I created a system that caters to all income levels and gives each client the respect and individual attention he/she deserves.
The most important lesson that I've learned is that nothing is for free. I have had to earn every dollar that I have made and appreciate it more each day that I remain independent. My failure and my success depends upon my efforts alone.
I want to encourage you to remain an independent thinker. The only reason that I started my company is because I was able to think outside of the box. There were many who stated I should have remained on Wall Street earning a six figure salary. There were many who stated that I should have taken the offer from the prestigious firms when I went into financial plan. Even more stated I was crazy to start my own company. Einstein stated, "If an idea is never viewed as insane, it is destined NOT to be successful." Nine of out ten can't support themselves upon retirement. Therefore, most people who give you advice don't know what they are talking about themselves. Read, study, learn, and think for yourself.
