Nature of Business: Branding, visual identity development, graphic & web design I became an entrepreneur because I had a specific vision around the kind of business I would build and the service I would provide. I knew that my dream or vision would never be realized as long as I was working as somebody else's employee. Entrepreneurship is fascinating and endlessly interesting to me because it requires the knitting together of so many talents: the ability to market your company, detail and expertise with finances, customer relations, and the ability to create a service and/or product that is valuable to your customer, just to name a few! I believe that entrepreurship is ultimately about becoming the captain of your soul, and realizing your full unique potential.
The most important lesson that I've learned is to never throw in the towel. Growth is usually accompanied by a high level of uncomfortableness or pain! When you're an entrepreneur there are so many things that you must learn, and often the way of learning them is through the hard road of experience. I've also learned to really ask guidance from others who have gone before me; there's no sense in trying to bang your head against something when somebody with more experience can guide you. I always try to remember that there are no failures, only growth experiences. As an entrepreneur you must learn to capitalize on the experience of your mistakes in order to experience sucess.
I want to encourage you to listen to your innermost voice, it is calling you - it is the quiet voice that can often be trampled on by the fears of society or your family. Encourage this voice, cultivate it, embody it and become it.
